Who is the Smart Farm Specialist

The Smart Farm Specialist is a key professional figure in digital agriculture and the sustainable development of the agricultural sector. This role integrates agronomic, technological, and management skills to drive innovation in contemporary farming systems and support the ecological and digital transition of agricultural enterprises.
 
They operate as entrepreneurs, consultants, or project managers within farms, agritech companies, cooperatives, or startups, promoting resilient, efficient, and sustainable production models. Acting as a catalyst for the “twin transition” (ecological and digital), they contribute to the competitiveness and long-term sustainability of agricultural businesses.

How to Prepare for the Selection Process
  • Practice logic and problem-solving: try online quizzes with multiple-choice questions.
  • Review technical English, especially reading comprehension (B1/B2 level required).
  • Learn about the chosen course: the technical test assesses basic knowledge in the field (energy, agro, or digital).
  • Prepare for the motivational interview: reflect on your reasons for choosing this path, your interests, and future goals.
Course Objectives
  • Integrate digital and mechatronic technologies for smart farming, utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT, Digital Twins, drones, and agricultural robots for the intelligent management of land and crops.
  • Address climate challenges by designing resilient, sustainable agricultural systems with a low environmental impact.
  • Utilize data, sensors, and automation to support data-driven agronomic decisions and improve both productivity and quality.
  • Apply circular economy principles to the management of water, soil, energy, and agricultural waste.
  • Develop innovative agricultural business models, including the use of digital platforms, short supply chains, and smart services for agriculture.
  • Coordinate smart farming projects and digital transformation processes in collaboration with institutions, consortia, and local networks.
